Hi everyone  :)

I hope you're all doing well. I was wondering if anyone here knows the size of the Axiostar head dovetail, diameter and depth, I'm attempting to convert one into a finite, 160 mm system to use my Zeiss standard head and objectives. My Standard 15 frame is faulty and the Axiostar plus frame is in perfect condition but no head or objectives and I want to make a hybrid  8)

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi Gary,

the Zeiss Standard heads and objectives will fit directly to the Axiostar Plus.
Only the adjusting height of the condensors is a bit more than Zeiss Standard.

Thanks, Christoph.

That's good news! So if the head fits and the threads are RMS I'll be good to go :)  The Aixostar stand is complete except for the head and objectives and looks almost new. It should arrive in a week and I only have to check for the proper length for 160mm objectives.

This will be fun  :D

Hi Gary,

this stand has the proper length for 160mm objectives ...
By the way : If you want to use Zeiss Standard condensors, please contact me via PN. There is a difference of 3 mm height to overcome. We might find a solution.

Christoph

Thanks Christoph

Sadly the old condenser is also broken. The Standard 15 I bought had many problems, faulty condenser, mismatched eyepieces and objectives, broken stage adjusters with no slide holder and the head dovetail was on upside down! but it was also very cheap because of all that. The Axio stand has a fully working lamp, condenser and stage. I just need to fit the head and objectives and at last I will have a functional microscope. The Axiostar stand was only 200 dollars so it was too good a bargain to miss and it is in almost new condition.

Knowing everything will fit and it's the right size for 160mm makes me very happy. I thought I would need to do major surgery to make everything work properly.

Best regards
Gary

Hi all.
I wanted to say thanks for the good advise, my Zeiss AxioStandard is all up and running with stage and condenser risers to use LOMO objectives as well as Zeiss, and a LED light conversion  ;D
