Hello Arturo,

what kind of aquarium do you have? So far I thought Euplotes is a saline water organism? But I am not an expert in Ciliata.

The photographs are amazing!

there is probably no water sample from a pond where you won't find Euplotes after a couple of days.

Lieber Eckhard,

also kommt Euplotes sowohl im Salz- als auch im Süßwasser vor? Ich habe ja nun lange nicht mehr richtig getümpelt, aber ich kann mich eben nur daran erinnern, dass ich diesen Ciliaten regelmäßig in Wasser aus Ost- und Nordsee gefunden hatte. Danke für die Klärung!

many thanks to all!
my one is a little fresh water acquarium ( it is 25l whit no fish) that houses various species!
in this period was poor of species so I added a bit of granular fish feed!
Incredibly, the number after a couple of days has increased enormously!
