Hallo zusammen,

mmhm, yes, this idea occured to a lot of people, but I haven't heard of people daring enough to try it out. But I'm glad to see it is still ok after 2 years (and why shouldn't it?).
Nevertheless, I hope this is not going to be the way to 'upgrade' Zeiss optics for ebay... But it probably already is :'(

HI Paule,
that is my article..i did the restoration about 3 yesrs ago and i can confirm that today there are no delaminations in the prism.
I hope you find it interesting .
Best regards
arturo
Dear Arturo,
when you decided to repair the prism, was it because the delamination had an effect on the optical quality? Was there an visible improvement after the repair?
Is it also possible to repair the small DIC sliders for the objectives?
Best Regards
Jochen
Hi -
there are two interesting letters at the end of Arturo's report (in Italian). In the first one (by Pietro Sini) possible effects of the repair with immersion oil are discussed and the author thinks that disturbances in the illuminating pathway will be without consequences whereas in the image forming pathway they might be deleterious. According to my own experience even strong delamination of condensor prisms were without visible effect on the image quality.
In the second letter a successful repair of a CPL 10x/18 eyepiece ist reported and that reminds me of similar reports in this forum which I couldn't find yet - perhaps the author is still present or there is someone who can give a link?
Best regards
Rolf
Hi Rolf,
There are quite a few, but this one actually has a few images of the repair. http://www.mikroskopie-forum.de/index.php?topic=9962.0
