Titel: Zeiss Junior Standard Questions
Beitrag von: 75RR in Juni 16, 2014, 14:34:37 NACHMITTAGS

I would like to apologise for writing in English. I do not speak German.

I have two questions, which I hope you can help me with.
I am the happy and proud owner of a Zeiss Junior Standard, I bought it 2 months ago and I need to find a replacement screw for the slide holder.
Second: of the objectives it came with the 40x and 100x are stuck, the end with the spring does not move. Is it reparable?

Thanks
glen

Hi Glen,

regarding the screw I can help you, but I need both parts for the dimensions. I send a PN with my mailing address.

For the objectives you will find information in some older threads in this forum.

Best, Olaf

Hi Glen

one possibility is to warm up the stuck objectives in a oven to about 50 °C for some hours. May be then the problem is solved. Next step could be to bring in 1 or 2 droplets of Xylen in the cleavage of the stuck parts. And if this does´nt help warm it again.

Good luck!

Klaus, have tried your recipe:

3 hours at 50 degrees Celsius. Is that right?
Perhaps I put too much salt or it should have been 3.5 hours.

Anyway I am afraid it did not work.

Am tone deaf, so would appreciate an alternative to the song!

P.S. Had to be inventive as my oven is on the blink.
Objective is under box balanced on two short wooden pencils.
Vegetable cooker on a frying-pan.
