Hallo,
don't use WD40, it's creeping on the lenses too! so your lens would be trash.
Try to waem it slow up to 40°C or use some petroleum ether.
Good luck
Joachim
Nicht auf der Innenseite!
Sehr wenig.
Unter dem Ring an der Objektive.
Hello Niklas,
I would also recomend to try first to warm it up. WD 40 is very powerfull, but dangerous to optics
Edit: Hello Niklas,
a friend just called me and told me to ask you: this ring turns in two directions. Now it stands at one end. Can you please try to turn it in the other direction?
This ring moves a smal diapragm (Iris) inside the objetive so you can make darkfield-contrast in combination with a darkfieldcondensor.
Does it have a complex james bond style Iris inside or what construction ?
- At what temperature *C does the lamination start to burn off ?
- Hair dryer used. Fingers crossed.

ZitatDoes it have a complex james bond style Iris inside or what construction ?
Exactly! and this iris goes in two directions open and close. Now it stands at "close" you must go in the other direction!
Temperature of a hairdryer will not destroy the objective! ;) But it needs some time to soften the lubrication.
