With winter being near I got the daft idea to make a diatom "snow globe" arrangement - and did so.
The image is a focus stack shot under brightfield illumination with a 20x/0.5 objective. The design is 0.58mm wide 0.73mm high, attached to the coverslip and mounted in zrax.

This is a very beautiful arrangement. It is also a fairly easy image to lay out because the diatoms are not too close together. The only difficulty might be laying the circle.
