In der Corethron-Probe habe ich auch ein Dinoflagellat finden können.
Ich stelle hier mal Bilder ein ohne nähere Bezeichnung des Probanten. Aufgenommen mit dem 40er Objektiv
bei trockenem Exemplar.

das ist mal wieder besonders krass!
Ich habe das Buch "Marine Phytoplankton" von Mona Hoppenrath, welches übrigens sehr günstig zu bekommen ist:

Darin sind außer vielen Diatomeen auch sehr viel Dinoflagellaten abgebildet, am nächsten kommt wohl dieser, aber sicherlich ist dies auch nicht richtig, Rene müsste helfen.

But I have to backtrack on this and admit I do not know. I can't reconcile this view with the frontview.
The tip should be asymmetrically placed in front, and the girdle should be nearly straight. The lower spines are very big. In fact the whole dino is way to big for excentricum. Hmm, my image library isn't as organised as I'd like it to be...
But it is a splendid preparation. Is it in Pleurax?

No, it's not embedded yet. It's a dry specimen on a slide. You can rotate it in any direction as needed.

It is a bit of an oblique angle, making it difficult to see the right details. But what a magnficent image!
If the size is correct (it's huge), only 2 species would fit: P oceanicum and P depressum. The epitheca is not much 'depressed', but given the choice I would name it P depressum.
I'll show P excentricum later, it is really a strange beasty.
