Hi, My name is Miguel and I´m from Spain.
I have a Carl Zeiss Lavobal 3 and I would like to know if exist any adapter to covert it in stereoscopic. It is possible?
Danke!!
Miguel.
Hi Miguel,
Schould be no issue binocular heads from Carl Zeis Jena, Lomo and Meopta will fit on this microscope except the modern infinity systems from Jenavert, Jenamed microscopes. Items often offered on e-bay. Zeis West, Olympus and other brands do not fit!
Best regards,
Michael
Hi Michael,
I want to mean "stereoskopik (3D)". My microscope is binocular already.
thanks!
Miguel.
Hello Miguel,
no this is not possible. The Laboval is not a stereomicroscope. The binokular head goes to only one path of light, so you will not have a 3 D-effect. The stereomicroscopes do have two separate pathways for the light. Only this will give you a 3D-view.
Go to wikipedia you will find the detailed explanation!

Olá Miguel
you can only try to simulate a kind of stereoscopic effect using pol filters in a special manner.

I cannot translate everything but look at the pics and diagramms and feel free to put further questions!
Or are you thinking about oblique lighting by any chance?
