Die Diatomee Didymosphenia geminata(Lyngbye)- auffällige Sonderform

Hallo Diatomeenfreunde und alle
Ich bekam kürzlich eine kleine gereinigte Probe, in welcher vorherrschend die Diatomee
 Didymosphenia geminata(Lyngbye)  vorkommt.
Hier in der Algenbase beschrieben.

Beim genauen Durchmustern eines angefertigten Streupräparates erfreute ich mich an der schönen Form dieser Diatomeen. Eine einzige wich aber von der, normalen Form,  wie auf folgendem Foto gezeigt, ab.



Das gezeigte Foto ist unbearbeitet und nicht gestackt.
Hier nun die Diatomee welche die auffällige Sonderform mit beiderseitiger Wulst zeigt. Ich habe auch schon gerätselt, wie diese Sonderform zustande kommt? Wer eine Idee oder Vermutung hat, bitte her damit.







Alle Fotos sind mit dem Pluta-DIC und Objektiv Olympus Splan 40/0,70 erstellt.

Hello Siegfried,
I believe what you see is a girdle band that has not completely removed from the form.

I suspect that I am the source of this sample. Many of the forms are still whole frustules.

Here is where I collected this sample, on the Gunpowder Falls river in Maryland right after the Prettyboy dam. Lots of "rock snot".

And here is an image of the "rock snot" which is pure Didymosphenie geminata.

wonderful documentation! I have to say the possibility that the sample comes from you would be very high, but this sample actually comes from Yorkshire, sample code 361 B from Klaus Kemp.

Thanks for your reply and your guess that it could be an existing girdle. Also your addition of where you found this Didymosphenia geminata. I have this specimen from Anne. This specimen is from the collection of Klaus Kemp. It was found in Yorkshire. I have now found another Didymosphenia geminata with this bead and photographed it in two layers. See photo.

Danke für deine Antwort und deine Vermutung, es könnte ein noch vorhandenes Gürtelband sein. Auch deine Ergänzung zu Fundort, wo du diese Didymosphenia geminata gefunden hast. Ich habe diese Probe von Anne. Diese Probe ist aus der Sammlung von Klaus Kemp. Sein Fundort war Yorkshire. Ich habe jetzt noch eine Didymosphenia geminata gefunden mit dieser Wulst und in zwei Ebenen aufgenommen. Siehe Foto.
