Fuente La Minilla.

This microalga just received from the source in the Sierra La Minilla north of Seville by frequently happened and I had always struck green filaments that were in the sink, so I decided that it was time to pick up a shows to try to find out the gender and microscopic vision of the unknown.

This microalgae is Spirogyra, a genus of filamentous algae in the order of Zygnematales, named for the helical arrangement of chloroplasts.
As you can see is a truly spectacular microalgae for their color, shape of rectangular cells is longer than wide.
I do not need living conditions undemanding regarding their nutrition, because the site where I collected, being the source of this water pure enough.

The photo is made with a filter on the blue LED.

But you can move the pointer, that it is not visible?

If not possible you should look for an oculair without that pointer.

Next time you pass by that site you should scrape off some of the brownish slime from the wall.  These are diatoms, beautiful algae with silicium frustules. -- Kind regards /felix
