Improvised Fr-TIR Fluorescence illumination system

Hi everyone

As some of you know I am working on a Frustrated TIR device. Following the lead of fellow microscopists I built a sort of transmitted darkfield (Fr-TIR) fluorescence illumination system. Following see the results.

The sample is Pinus XS male strolibus with microspore. Mounted on slide.

I used the setup seen in the image. Bottom to top we have the light guide the sample and the yellow filter. For this one I used a very simple light guide with a Blue LED strip 452-455nm.
