Another vote for the Ditylum brightwellii

Question on the Interphaco pictures: they have a less apparent sharpness (I also have noticed this on the pictures shared by Carsten W.)  is this the by-product of the optical technique used ?
On the other hand the technique shows details hardly noticeable n normal bright field.

Would appreciate to understand more.

Hello Maarten,
the interphaco contrast method is characterized by the fact that the objective aperture is not restricted.
As a result, the process has a high image resolution.
However, the process results in less sharpness of the edges.
I also have to mention that I only sharpen the image a little bit.
