Welche Methode ist "riskanter" ... beim aufbrechen von Diatomit Verklumpungen?

Hallo zusammen,

Nur eine Überlegung.  Welche Methode ist riskanter um Erd- Sand- Lehm- verklumpungen zu lösen, bzw.
auf zu brechen. In der Regel heisst es ja Gefrierzyklen, ich denke mir das bei der Bildung von Eiskristallen die Diatomeen auch beschädigt werden. Bei der Methode mit dem Glaubersalz ist es ähnlich.
Bei Ultraschall lösen sich die Verklumpungen auf, aber ich denke da läuft man Gefahr das die Schalen durch die Vibration auch Schaden nehmen.

Was meint Ihr dazu? Welche Methode ich am schädlichsten für Diatomeen?

I tried Rewoquat on 12 different lumps of diatomite. On the first one, a dusty/chalky sample, it broke it down to fine mud in less than a week. I thought I'd found a magic solution! But on the rest, including other dusty/chalky samples, it wasn't as good. It left hard lumps in nearly all of them  even after several weeks of soaking and agitating, (it did break up some material though). Everything from mudstone, through hard and crumbly diatomites. One very hard lump didn't shed any dust at all.

I just checked the failed samples from that test. They have been soaking for 3 years - no change, still lumpy but with varying amounts of loose, muddy material freed up.

Basically, I think Rewoquat either works quickly, in days, or only partially. Though that might be good enough...

Ja, ich habe eine kleine Probe mit purem Rewoquat eingeweicht. Aber das Auswaschen ist eine Desaster.
Man spült und spült und spült. Wenn man nun soweit ist das sich keine Schaum bläschen mehr bilden und sicherheitshalber weiter spült, hat man hinterher immer noch Probleme. Wenn man eine Probe auf den OT geben will zerfliesst das Wasser nicht wie gewohnt, obwohl man neuen OT nutzt. Ich denke das immer noch spuren vom Rewoquat vorhanden sind und diese auf dem OT "Mizellen" bilden.
Heisst für mich das dies keine Möglichkeit ist, ich bleibe somit bei der Gefriermethode, dazu nutze ich
eine Eismaschiene. Das funktioniert ja auch soweit, ich denke das ich mehr Zyklen machen muss..

Best to rinse Rewoquat out with 3 or 4 changes of isopropyl alcohol - that gets rid of it. I diluted it with about 30% IPA when using it to soak diatomite too.

I never thought of using an ice cream maker. Neat idea. I'll look into that. Thanks
