Hi Ariel,
Perfect as always.
Do you have Information about the salinity of the Probe?
Is it brackish water or higher?
Greetings Holger

Thx.
So salinity is in the brackish range, more leaning to freshtwater.

Blepharisma species are really interesting in terms of the salinity they are living in.

There are species living in rain water filled leafs with very low concentrations, up to others inhabiting extremophile (hypersaline) conditions.

Hello Ariel,
I doubt a bit , that that your excellent video really shows Blepharisma tardum (I miss the size), because KAHL describes  B. tardum as halobiontic ciliate.. By the attached pages and table you may check your determination. I hope, it will help.

So blickt man klar, wie selten nur,
Ins innre Walten der Natur.

Hello Henry,
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Yes, Im not sure about that ID, thats why I added (?).
In my ID I was refering to Carey's "Marine Interstitial Ciliates",
Im attaching the relevant sections.
Thanks again
