« am: September 25, 2014, 11:50:06 Vormittag »
Good morning, a new green alga found in a pond in the park of Maria Luisa, Seville.
I think it's Scenedesmus acuminatus.
Like what you see?
Regards, Francisco.

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxonom%C3%ADa#.C2.BFPor_qu.C3.A9_cambian_los_nombres_de_los_taxones.3F

The formal description and classification of taxa are procedures in which it is common to see errors and inconsistencies, and this occurred to a greater extent even before the international codes: regulate these works in great detail. The names of the taxa may change when they are rediscovered earliest descriptions of the same taxon, and the principle of priority applies, or when it is observed that the original description actually referring to a different taxon. The nomenclature rules indicate that in these cases the name of the taxon should be changed without discussion, but, if the widespread use of the name seems desirable conservation has been to promote a formal proposal to the appropriate committee of the International Congress. It can decide to accept the listing of conservanda payroll, names that are considered valid for practical reasons, although their use contravenes the rule of priority. Not usually occur in those two cases and well-studied groups, and there are also mechanisms Codes for the suppression of poorly defined in the toughest groups names. Once established the basic taxonomy of a group, it is unlikely that changes in names are given for this kind of reasons.

Saludos, Francisco
