Hi,

I am visiting your forum again after rather a long time has passed to ask for help once more.

I bought a Dialux-Pol S last week that came with several accessories.

It would seem that some of them, perhaps even all of them are not for the Dialux-Pol S

I would like to identify them if possible and find out what microscope they are for.

I hope it is ok to post the photos here. There are 3 wooden boxes and a condenser and what may be a Pol Lupe.
All are made by Leitz Wetzlar. All objectives are marked P for Pol

As you may have guessed I do not speak not write in German - sorry

From what I have understood the Dialux-Pol S has no transmitted light capability,
as it is designed to allow the largest space between the stage and the objective as possible.

Photo 1 (small box) is a Pol-Opak (I think) It is jammed - can you recommend a solvent to loosen it?
Photo 2 (medium box) looks like it contains a transmitted light condenser lens
Photo 3 (large box) contains both 23mm and 30mm single eyepieces
Photo 4 transmitted light condenser with an attachment point that does not fit on the Dialux-Pol S
Photo 5 Pol Lupe? Not sure if it is or how it works
Photo 5 My Dialux-Pol S with 30mm tube and vertical illuminator

Can anyone tell me a name or code to look them up - or anything about them
I think they are for a different microscope. Thanks

and a photo of the Dialux-Pol S for context

Hi 75RR,

Photo 2 shows a complete Pol-outfit of an older Leitz microscope. The central part is a cap analyzer to replace the tube analyzer. It can only be used on top of straight Pol-tubes and is needed for some investigations, for example with the Wright eyepiece:

Photo 5 shows a Klein's loupe for conoscopic images of small crystals, as well for an older stand:

Hi Olaf,

good to hear from you again. Hope you are well.

Many thanks for the identifications.

One question: are the boxed sets sold with a specific purpose in mind?

For example: Box #1 is for investigations into ... and ...

Would a list of the objectives help?

Regards

Glen

Hi Glen,

These sets were offered as "optical equipments". This is, for example, what was offered for microscopes of 1930 vintage:

Excellent - I have found a catalogue and am busy identifying objectives and parts.

Many thanks
