glyoxal vs formalin

Hallo, does anyone here has experience with the use of glyoxal? Especially in the long term storage?

We're considering changing our fixation conditions of our macrofauna samples, and wonder whether it is worth changing our protocols. Issues: sample stability, toxicity for field workers.
