Hello all.

Here's ~4mm diameter drop of very dilute glycine allowed to dry on a slide and shot between crossed polarisers with a half-wave retarder plate. I white-balanced the image using the background as the white reference. I see a koi carp swimming away! Do you?

In case you think I'm hallucinating, I added a second version where I shifted the hue of the entire image, then shifted the "koi carp" separately, so it stands out.

Have you ever had surprising things show up in your polarised crystal shots? If so, I'd love to see your "hallucinations" too  ;D

Hello Manfred,

Oh no - I didn't know about the association thread. Thanks for letting me know, and sorry for cluttering the forum. I'd repost in the correct thread and remove this, but I can't find any way to delete posts.

Perhaps mods could move it?

Lesson learned. Thanks again.

Cheers

Dear Steve,
I am sure it is no problem to see this wonderful images in two posts.
So perhaps you can add it to the associatons post and just leave it here.

Hello Steve,

very nice! please show more of them. it makes me think about the 70ties :-) the circle of the picture makes it like art.

best regards
Wolfgang
