polarized light images

Polarized light foil has become cheaply available and allows to make beautiful pictures of simple materials. shows protoxylem of Cucurbita stem under polarized light, followed by white light.
Pear sklerenchym shows quite a different image when seen in polarized light than in white light.

It may not be very new, but it will remain enjoyable.
