Niemals ein scharfes Bild

Liebe Mikrofotografen,

unter dem Titel "schlechte Fotos am Leica DM-LB ....." wird sehr viel über alle möglichen Bildfehler diskutiert. Auch die Frage, was ist Astigmatismus kam auf. Also habe ich ganz schnell einen Astigmateur  in den Strahlengang gebaut und ein Filmchen gedreht.

Objekt war ein schlecht beschichtetes Deckglas mit einer Silberschicht. Die feinen Fehlstellen sind ein gutes Testobjekt.

Good demonstration! I have a slight effect of this kind on one of our inverteds, but it is getting worse towards the edge of the field of view. Is this normal for astigmatism?

it depends on the whole system not only the objectives.

Well, this isn't the objectives, also not the binocular head, must be internally somewhere. I attributed it to bad design of the early infinity models (this is an oly IX 70). The dealer has rebuild the whole system last year from scratch but to no avail. Of course they won't admit to it being a design flaw... So far this scope has been going through our team like a hot potato, everyone favours the 160mm scopes. Shame, it was a lot of money.

So astigmatism is not only uniform throughout the field of view? Can it tell something more specific about it when it specifically becomes worse towards the edge of view?
